Is SWD the same as NMRV worm reducer?

No. SWD is a dual-lead precision worm gearbox for low-backlash right-angle servo transmission. NMRV / RV is a general compact worm gear reducer for economical fixed-ratio right-angle reduction.

What does dual-lead worm mean?

A dual-lead worm uses different lead geometry on the worm tooth flanks. By moving the worm axially, the effective meshing clearance changes, allowing backlash adjustment.

What is the main advantage of SWD?

The main advantage is backlash-controlled right-angle transmission for servo-driven precision motion. It is suitable when positioning repeatability, adjustment accuracy, and servo flange matching matter.

Can SWD be used with a servo motor?

Yes. SWD can be matched with servo motors through AQA flange options. Servo motor brand, frame, shaft, flange, rated speed, torque, brake, and encoder clearance should be confirmed before drawing release.

Can backlash be adjusted after long-term use?

Backlash adjustment is a key direction of dual-lead worm design. The actual adjustment should follow the product manual and should be reviewed according to gearbox wear, load, lubrication, and service condition.

When should SCK be selected instead of SWD?

SCK should be reviewed when the application needs compact right-angle transmission with RV-compatible mounting and higher-efficiency hypoid gear direction, but does not require precision backlash-class control.
