Key milestones in Starshine’s development
1965–2001
Manufacturing foundation
Starshine’s predecessor was founded as a state-owned military-industry mold factory. The early work was based on mold manufacturing and controlled machining practice.
This origin formed a manufacturing culture built around process discipline, part accuracy, and responsibility for physical product quality.
1965
Company origin: state-owned Xingguang tool and mold manufacturing enterprise.
1987
The first generation of JWB-X series speed variator was developed.
2002–2007
Restructuring and quality system building
In this stage, Starshine moved toward a clearer gearbox business. Company naming, quality certification, and industry standard work helped make products easier to specify and supply.
2002
Officially named Foshan Xingguang Transmission Machinery Co., Ltd.
2004
Passed ISO9001-2000 international quality management system certification.
2007
Participated in drafting industry standard documents for CR, CF, CK, CS, and WN series gearboxes.
2008–2012
Transmission machinery became the clear direction
Product families became more complete. Several gear reducer products were recognized as high-tech products, and the company was recognized for credit and development potential in the gear industry.
During this stage, Starshine also started export business. Public trade records later show shipments to multiple overseas markets, which became a base for further international service.
2009
Rated as one of the first national-level credit enterprises.
2010
Rated as one of the first national-level credit enterprises. Export business started, marking Starshine’s first stage of overseas market service.
2011
Multiple gear reducer products were recognized as national and provincial high-tech products.
2012
Awarded National High-tech Enterprise and listed among top development-potential enterprises in China’s gear industry.
2014–2017
New base, R&D platform, and management upgrade
Starshine moved into a new production base and improved its R&D and management systems. This period also marked a stronger shift from single products to application-based drive solutions.
2014
Xingguang Science & Technology Park put into operation. R&D Center renamed as Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center.
2015
Employee equity incentive was introduced. The company name changed to Guangdong Starshine Drive Co., Ltd.
2016
Management reform started, with several new product R&D upgrade projects promoted.
2017
Lean production, information system construction, and 6S management improvement were introduced.
2020–2026
Process control, capacity improvement, and export support
Starshine continued to improve production flow, budget management, and manufacturing capacity. The goal is simple: make gearbox supply more stable for OEM projects, local distributors, export customers, and maintenance replacement needs.
2020
BMS budget management system was launched. NCJ semi-automatic production line was put into production.
2021
The second phase of the plant was put into use. A process reengineering project was introduced.
2026
Industrial park renovation, workshop upgrades, and production line expansion further improved export support and manufacturing capacity.
